Sometimes we can be too serious in our photography… take me for example. Last week I stood on a rock in the middle of a forest for over an hour. I guess it was determination to get the shot I wanted in camera, rather than create it in post. Looking back though, it was a bit “extreme” but it can be very easy to say “just another 5 minutes” over and over as the time passes and you’ve been close to getting what you want several times.
The above shot was the absolute opposite. I was in Edinburgh for a wander a few months ago and was just playing with my Leica Sumar lens from 1937. Seeing what effects I could create and trying not to think too much about what was going on. To see what the result was. In this case it’s a quirky fun image and one which people seem to like. Can’t ask for more than that!
